Well recently, a lot has been happening around the world. I am just going to touch on a few things, from my "neck of the woods".
Last week, we suffered through some terrible winter weather, and extreme cold conditions, here in Canada. I am just glad that it is over now. Spring is just around the corner and I am waiting optimistically for it.
A few things of note.....the BBC(that is the British Broadcasting Corporation).....recently started broadcasting on channel 37, Rogers cable, here in Toronto. So, we don't have to pay extra, since it is one of the channels we get, as part of our cable package. It is replacing CNN Headline News.
The BBC reports are global in their approach, and I am thoroughly enjoying them, and getting up to date with what is happening around the globe. They do have wider reporting, than CNN, and it is just incredible news reporting. Kudos to them. That is what world news should be, not just tunnel vision reporting, as in the American media.
Sir Richard Branson, of Virgin Atlantic (UK based), is offering a $25 million climate prize (Virgin Earth Challenge), to anyone who can reduce carbon monoxide in the atmosphere. Sir Richard, if you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. Enough said!!!
And in America, SenatorBarack Obama declared that he would be "running" to become the President of the United States. Good luck Obama, you are going to need it, to fight off Senator Hillary Clinton, who is going to fight you "tooth and nail", to live in the White House. Just to let you know, I do believe that you deserve a chance.
On a note of sadness, we have lost Anna Nicole Smith.....What a tragedy!.....First her son, then her...How awful...To lose a child is very difficult. I do wish that someone does something to protect her young daughter. This is a tragic situation. I do hope that she gets buried soon also.......And then there is Britney Spears, undergoing a meltdown. Shearing her locks (the Buddha look) and having tattoos done.......Yep, it is true, money can't buy you happiness.....Britney, hang in there, there is "light at the end of the tunnel".
And then there is Christina Aguilera, bringing down the house at the Grammy Awards. What a singer!!! She has got some pipes on her. We love you Christina. One word.....AWESOME.....
Anyway, I just had to touch on all of the above, since so much has been happening recently. Gosh.....tragedy, sorrow, pain and death.....hope, joy, new beginnings and spring is just around the corner.
